Your pre-disbursement right to request a refund
You may request a refund while the relevant donation remains under FundRiseMe’s control and has not been irreversibly transferred, spent, committed, or otherwise applied to the beneficiary or an expressly disclosed campaign expense. Submit the request as soon as possible because campaign funds or disclosed campaign costs may be committed after verification and processing. A request is reviewed under this Policy and provider rules before a refund is confirmed.
How to request a refund
Contact contact@fundriseme.com with the campaign URL, donation receipt or order reference, transaction date, amount, payer email, and a short reason. Never send your full card number, CVV, online-banking password, or wallet password.
What happens while a timely request is reviewed
Where reasonably possible, FundRiseMe may pause the related release of funds while a timely refund request is reviewed. We may verify the donor, payment, campaign, beneficiary status, dispute status, and whether the relevant funds have already been irreversibly committed or used, including any campaign-specific advertising or production cost that was disclosed and agreed before it applied.
After funds have been applied
Once the relevant funds have been irreversibly transferred, spent, committed, or otherwise applied to the beneficiary or an expressly disclosed campaign expense, an ordinary change-of-mind refund may no longer be available for that portion. We may still review duplicate or unauthorized payments, credible fraud or material misrepresentation, payout failure, campaign removal, or another case required by law or provider rules.
Refund method and timing
Approved refunds are normally sent back to the original payment method. Bank, wallet, card-network, and payment-provider processing times apply. If a provider does not return its processing fee, FundRiseMe will disclose how that affects the transaction before making any deduction from an approved refund where applicable law permits.
Chargebacks and duplicate recovery
If you have already filed a chargeback or payment dispute, tell us before requesting a separate refund. A donor may not recover the same donation twice. Fraudulent or abusive refund or chargeback activity may be restricted and reported to the payment provider.
