Fundraise and support responsibly

Community Guidelines

These Guidelines explain the behavior and content expected from organizers, beneficiaries, teammates, donors, commenters, and visitors.

Be truthful

Use accurate names, relationships, descriptions, images, expenses, goals, updates, donor activity, and payout information. Do not omit a fact when omission would make the fundraiser materially misleading.

Respect dignity and consent

Obtain permission before sharing another person’s story, image, diagnosis, financial hardship, contact details, or documents. Use only the information reasonably needed to explain the fundraiser.

Keep supporters informed

Publish timely updates about meaningful progress, changes, setbacks, spending, beneficiary status, and changed use of funds. Correct inaccurate information promptly.

Communicate safely

Do not threaten, harass, shame, exploit, discriminate against, or expose private information about another person. Comments and updates must remain relevant and lawful.

Do not manipulate the platform

Do not fabricate donors, donations, timestamps, comments, followers, identity, evidence, or engagement; coordinate deceptive activity; create fake accounts; or misuse reporting systems.

Report concerns responsibly

Use the report form with specific facts and supporting information. Do not file knowingly false reports or use reporting to intimidate organizers or donors.
