1. Who is responsible and how to contact us
FundRiseMe is responsible for the processing described in this Notice unless a different controller is identified at collection. Privacy questions and rights requests may be sent to contact@fundriseme.com. Reports concerning a campaign should be sent through the report form or to report@fundriseme.com.
2. Scope
This Notice applies to FundRiseMe websites, account and fundraiser tools, donation flows, support, reports, communications, and related services. Payment providers, linked websites, social networks, charities, organizers, and other independent parties may process information under their own notices.
3. Information you provide
This may include name, email, password credentials, profile information, country and approximate location, campaign stories, beneficiary relationships, images, updates, comments, donation preferences, payout email or account details, organization information, identity or verification documents, support messages, reports, evidence links, marketing choices, and communications.
4. Donation and transaction information
We may receive or create donation amount, currency, campaign, date and time, public anonymity choice, order or provider reference, transaction status, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, risk indicators, receipt information, and limited billing details. Full card credentials are generally handled by the payment provider rather than stored by FundRiseMe.
5. Information collected automatically
This may include IP address, browser, operating system, device identifiers, language, approximate location, pages viewed, links clicked, session activity, referral source, timestamps, cookie or local-storage identifiers, error logs, security events, and performance data.
6. Information from others
We may receive information from organizers, beneficiaries, teammates, donors, payment and payout providers, identity-verification services, fraud-prevention providers, charities, social networks, public records, regulators, law enforcement, business partners, and people submitting reports.
7. Public information
Fundraiser titles, stories, images, goals, amounts raised, organizer information, location, updates, comments, and public supporter names or messages may be visible publicly and may be indexed, shared, copied, or archived by others. Choosing public anonymity hides the displayed donor identity but does not make the payment anonymous to FundRiseMe or payment providers.
8. Purposes of processing
We use information to create and secure accounts; publish, review, discover, share, and manage fundraisers; process donations and payouts; provide receipts and support; communicate updates; prevent fraud and abuse; review reports; verify identity, beneficiary, organization, and payout details; comply with law and provider obligations; enforce policies; protect rights and safety; measure and improve performance; and send marketing where permitted.
9. Legal bases
Depending on the service and your location, processing may be necessary to perform a contract, take steps you request before a contract, comply with legal obligations, protect vital interests, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, establish or defend legal claims, perform tasks in the public interest where applicable, or rely on consent. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting prior lawful processing.
10. Sensitive and special-category information
Campaign stories may reveal health, disability, religion, ethnicity, political views, sexuality, or other sensitive information. Only publish information you are authorized to share and that is necessary for the fundraiser. Where FundRiseMe must process protected sensitive information, an additional legal condition may be required. We may remove or limit unnecessary sensitive information.
11. Sharing and recipients
Information may be shared with organizers, beneficiaries, teammates, and donors as necessary; payment, payout, identity, hosting, storage, security, fraud, email, analytics, customer-support, and professional-service providers; charities or organizations selected by the user; business transaction participants; and courts, regulators, providers, or authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary for rights and safety.
12. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising
FundRiseMe does not state that personal information is sold for money. If practices later constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” targeted advertising, or similar regulated activity, this Notice and the Your Privacy Choices page must be updated and legally required opt-out methods and signals must be honored. Optional advertising or analytics technologies must not be activated before required consent.
13. International transfers
Information may be processed in countries whose laws differ from yours. Where required, FundRiseMe and providers should use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, approved contractual clauses, transfer assessments, or other lawful mechanisms.
14. Retention
Retention depends on account status, transaction and tax requirements, payout and provider records, dispute or chargeback windows, fraud and safety needs, legal claims, reports, consent, and technical backups. Information is deleted, anonymized, or restricted when no longer reasonably needed, unless law requires or permits continued retention.
15. Security
FundRiseMe uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature and risk of information. No system is completely secure. Users must protect credentials and promptly report suspected compromise. Where legally required, affected people and authorities will be notified of qualifying data breaches.
16. Your rights
Depending on location, you may have rights to be informed; access; correction; deletion; restriction; objection; portability; withdrawal of consent; appeal a privacy decision; opt out of certain sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; limit certain sensitive-data uses; and complain to a supervisory or regulatory authority. Rights may be limited by identity verification, other people’s rights, legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, transactions, or legal claims.
17. Exercising rights
Send a request from the email associated with your account to contact@fundriseme.com and state the right requested, country or state, account email, and relevant campaign or transaction. We may verify identity and authority. Authorized agents may need written authorization. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any denial or appeal option.
18. California and other US state notices
Where applicable, residents may request categories and specific pieces of information, sources, business purposes, recipient categories, correction, deletion, and portability; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; limit certain sensitive information; and receive equal service without unlawful discrimination. Current practices and applicability must be assessed against statutory thresholds and updated before launch in each state.
19. Cookies and privacy signals
See the Cookie Policy and Cookie Preferences page. Essential technologies support login, security, checkout continuity, and user choices. Optional technologies should follow consent requirements. If FundRiseMe engages in regulated sale or sharing, legally recognized browser signals such as Global Privacy Control must be evaluated and honored where required.
20. Marketing
Email marketing is sent only where permitted. You can unsubscribe using the link in a message or contact contact@fundriseme.com. Service, transaction, security, policy, payout, and fundraiser communications may still be sent when necessary.
21. Children
FundRiseMe is not intended for children who cannot legally consent or contract in their jurisdiction. An adult organizing for a child must have authority and protect the child’s privacy. We may remove content or accounts and request parental or guardian verification where appropriate.
22. Automated tools
FundRiseMe may use automated rules or risk signals to detect spam, fraud, payment risk, account compromise, prohibited content, or unusual activity. Significant actions should be subject to appropriate human review where required. Contact contact@fundriseme.com to request information or contest an eligible automated decision.
23. Changes and complaints
We may update this Notice and will identify the effective date. Material changes will be communicated where required. You may contact contact@fundriseme.com first, and where applicable complain to the data-protection authority or consumer-privacy regulator responsible for your location.
